Application
This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to operate portable vulcanising equipment to join conveyor belts.
This unit applies to an individual working alone or as part of a team.
The unit principally refers to portable vulcanising equipment that can range in size to suit belts from 600 mm to 3200 mm width, and belts that can be solid synthetic rubber, fabric or steel cord–reinforced; however, the underlying vulcanising principle is common to all types.
No licensing or certification requirements apply to this unit of competency at the time of publication. Relevant legislation, industry standards and codes of practice within Australia must be applied.
